    Evidence-based recommendation papers for hypertrophy synthesize the trial data on load, volume, and frequency. Comparisons of high- versus lower-frequency training show similar increases in lean mass and strength when effort is equated, and a large study on lengthened-partial versus full range of motion training found no meaningful difference in arm and thigh muscle cross-sectional area.
